Chicklish Review
Tuesday 18th September 2012
My Best Friend And Other Enemies has just got a lovely review from Luisa at Chicklish.
She says, "sparky and witty, with some extremely funny lines and a main character so endearing that it's impossible not to love her... lots of wonderful characters, some laugh-out-loud moments and a plot that just whizzes along, leaving you with a big smile on your face. Lively, sweet and seriously funny. Recommended for ages 9 to 99!"
There have also been some other lovely reviews. The Kooky Toon Book Cerner has said, "you'll be laughing out loud one moment then all of a sudden remember the painful and very poignant sting of what it's like to fall out with your best friend."
Booka Uhu's Book Nook says, "Catherine Wilkins is definitely someone to keep an eye out for!"
And Melissa Cox gives the book 5 out of 5 stars!

Monday 17th September 2012
My book had been out for just a week when Nosy Crow told me the news that they were doing a second print run. It feels incredibly exciting for that to be happening so soon, and fantastic that the book has started so well.

Book Review
Friday 20th July 2012
The PR trail continues with a lovely review on the Book Gannet Website here. This review is by Amelia Callanan, but her Dad also reviews books for grown ups. I'm delighted to have had such a wonderful response.
She says:
"Jessica, an 11 year old girl who loves drawing cartoons, is best friends with Natalie. They share everything with each other: secrets, dino biscuits and sleepovers. But when a new, horrible girl called Amelia comes to their school, Natalie and Jessica start to break apart. Jessica's alright with it at first but when they form a secret club without her, she cracks. Jessica tries to create her own gang to be rivals with Natalie and Amelia's gang, CAC. Can the ACE gang be better than CAC? As things start to get out of hand, in other words NASTY, poor Jessica has to try and cope with their rude comments and evil tricks. Will Jessica be able to cope without her best friend by her side? Will they stay enemies forever?
I really enjoyed reading this book; I couldn't put it down! I loved reading it and can't wait until she writes another book (even though this one's not out for a couple more months!). I've racked my brains to find something it could improve on but I can't think of anything. I loved the chatty style of writing that Catherine Wilkins has; it almost feels like the girl in the book is talking to you. I liked the characters, especially Jessica. My favourite bit was when they gave her the out of date invite to go bowling. It is realistic because problems like this happen all the time with friends. There will be some point when they're mean to you or when you hate each other a little. I loved this book; it has to be one of my favourites!!! Well done, it takes a lot to get me interested!!!!!"
So don't just take my word for it!
The PR Trail Starts Here!

My best friend Kim is helping me sell my book by letting me rent out the lucrative advertising space on her only daughter - for free!
She made this T-shirt with the book cover on the front, and on the back of the T-shirt it says, 'My Best Friend And Other Enemies, by Aunty Catie, out September 6th 2012, Available to Pre-Order on Amazon now!'
If anyone thinks it's amoral to advertise on a toddler, all I can say is this: Hello? Publishing is a cut throat business. A cut throat business my friend.
